I am a lens-based artist drawn to ways of living and the relationship between humans and nature. This interest is deeply personal. I have always had difficulty feeling at home, settling into places, into routines, into the pace of daily life. It is when I am surrounded by nature, among trees or overlooking quiet landscapes, that I am able to settle down.
This personal experience connects to something I see more broadly. As human beings, we are slowly losing our connection to nature and I believe that loss costs us more than we realise. My work invites viewers to sit with that question: what does nature mean to you, and when did you last let yourself feel it?
The use of analogue techniques plays a major role in my work; the darkroom is a place of experimentation and inspiration.
